Unfortunately, I just heard an account of an overheard conversation which took place at a restaurant in a conservative state last evening; most of a group of young adults were eagerly talking up the health care bill’s passage, the coming cap and tax, and a one world government which would punish the exploitative industrialized nations. And one was talking up the need for the government to force people to return to subsistence farming as a way of life in order to save the Earth and to create a just society.
I really love reading stories like yours. Sadly, the liberals I know (friends and family) still approve and like Obama and his policies. All hard-core liberals. Although, one of them wishes Hillary was president. We don’t talk politics; we have other common interests believe it or not. One of them actually watches FOX news all the time (to find out the other side’s talking points).
My parents are dems. Dad didn’t vote last election but mom voted for Obama. She has developed some buyers remorse with him but thinks that this health care law is just going to be great for America.
I’ve told her how wrong she is but she’s hard headed and will have to learn the hard way....when the Death Panel rejects her request to live.

Although I can’t get away with “bashing” Obama constantly to her-—she
herself now deplores him and can’t stand to see him or Michele on the tv.

Buyers Remorse.
A common outcome for otherwise sane people that got caught up in
the media/political to convince people that they MUST vote for
“America’s First Black President”.
No matter he’s an advocate for abortionists, corrupt as too many
Chicago politicians are, and was raised and works as a socialist.
I’d give your spouse credit for coming to her senses.
Well like so many other female voters, your wife is a DIP $HIT!!
I was talking to my (new) neighbor, who was raving about Sarah Palin. Her husband walked up to me and said, “Don’t listen to her, she voted for Obama.” She actually looked sheepish.
My sister is pissed because she now realizes insurance won't be free and she will even be required to pay for it now instead of just going to the hospital and stiffing the doctors and hospitals. (Unless she just quits her job.)
I only knew 4 folks that told me that they voted for Zero, haven’t talked to any of them since the day after the election..
My father hasn`t voted for a Republican since President Nixon was in office. In the midterms, he told me last night, he is voting for whatever Republicans are on the ballot. I was in utter shock when he said this. This man has railed on and on forever about how terrible the Republicans are, and now he has turned completely around !!! Stunning....
I have a die-hard Lib coworker. Political arguments aren’t day-to-day in my office. Mostly pop up only when something big happens, and usually I’m the instigator.
But the day after Scott Brown was elected, he came to work steeming, and yelling, and ranting and raving how now we won’t get national health care — he lived in Canada for a while and thinks single payer is awesome, and a country’s moral obligation to “the poor.” (He’s an atheist, however, so I don’t know upon what he bases his “morality.”)
Needless to say, he’s been quite as a mouse the last couple of days. At least he has some shame....
But I also know that no matter what totalitarian $hit we find in this new law, he will *eagerly* surrender any of his remaining liberty to Obama in 2012.
First...Wash her mouth out with soap!
Second....Make her take a shower, she’ll feel better!
Third...Teach her to read instead of watching tv!
I don’t care what the rank and file Democrats say.
We have to show every congressman’s and congresswoman’s picture EVERYWHERE that voted yes on the health care bill. On the internet, on telephone poles, on billboards with the message that these are the people who are responsible for socializing our country.
