Does anyone remember the reports of bricks being thrown from the overpass at the Republican vehicles coming to the Republican convention (somewhere in the North, I think—)and the tires on the Republican vans being flattened during a convention? Unfortunately, I lost my favorites list when my computer died last year, or I’d have a link to the story.
I’m just getting old, and probably grouchy sometimes to go with getting old. 8^)
The final tally for the WH mess just before Bush took office reachede $250,000 dollars. And .. Bush had no control over whether the DNC was billed or not. They were billed .. but I never heard if they actually paid the bill.
Aside from the things you mentioned, they also ordered hundreds of pizzas and whatever was left over was thrown all over the offices .. along with coke which was poured all over the telephones and computer keyboards - rendering them unusable. After they had already killed the telephones, they literally ripped them out of the walls.
Then .. when the Clinton staff got thru trashing all the staff offices, they went down to Cheney’s office and wrote obscene sayings on the walls; aside from all the other usual damage they were doing everywhere else.
I do think Bush tried to keep it quiet primarily because it was such a smear upon the office of the presidency .. but somebody leaked the info because it was the Budget office - or whatever the name is of the group who take care of the WH and I think they also oversee maintenance of other govt offices.
I didn’t think it should be kept quiet - in fact - recently when Eric Cantor made his announcement regarding the bullet through his office window, I was thrilled to hear him name names. It’s about time we call out these cowards.
