The University of Washington held a “debate” over the constitutionality of the health care bill in which none of the participants argued it was at all unconstitutional. Explaining this farce, the university claimed they couldn’t find any law professors to argue the opposing view. Liberal blogs such as TalkingPointsMemo and Think Progress, the blog for the Soros funded mouth-piece known as Center for American Progress, picked up the story to brag that the left can’t find any law professors to argue that Obamacare is unconstitutional. Clearly they haven’t looked hard enough.
Cato Institute legal scholar Ilya Shapiro, who is also an adjunct professor at George Washington University Law School, has issued a simple challenge. He’ll debate the constitutionality of Obamacare “anywhere at anytime.”

Just out of curiosity, how many can we find that will argue against it?

This is the equivalent of my niece’s new favorite reaction to anything her mother tells her to do...she puts her fingers in her ears and screams “LALALALALALA, I can’t hear you! If I can’t hear you I don’t have to do it! LALALALALA!”

Since law professors usually infest law schools, which are notoriously liberal, it might be hard to find one that would be willing to argue that it is unconstitutional. Conservative lawyers in government and private service do not count.

Hmm - universities deliberately reject hirings who question leftist orthodoxy - then confirm how bright and informed they are by being unable to find anyone on university campuses who questions their beliefs in leftist orthodoxies........
They look in their mirrors and ask “Is Obamacare illegal?” and the face in the mirror says “No way!”
Requiring that an American citizen buy a product from another person (corporations are legal ‘people’) or fines and possible imprisonment has never been done in our history.
“Supremacy Clause” applies where state law contradicts a Constitutional Federal law. Ours (thank God) is a Constitution of limited powers specifically listed and all powers not listed are reserved by the people and by the States.
Will be fun to hear the liberals bash the court system when Obamacare is struck down as unconstitutional. I see da irony.

Since real lawyers argue on behalf of clients on any side of an issue, these “law” professors are just confessing to being halfway incompetent.
“If, during the making of the health insurance bill, the legislature specifically forbid the buying of health insurance across state lines. Does this preclude the Interstate Commerce Clause as a constitutional basis for the Health Insurance Bill?”
These morons can’t find someone to argue either side? Must be too smart fer me!

There are professors of law here who argue against HCR. Scroll down thru the threads. There is even one who debated the issue on a radio show.

Sorry I was not clear. The glorious University of Washington Law School, could not find them. I’m sure there are many good lawyers that can, but not on the UW faculty.
