Eagles Trade McNabb To Redskins
ESPN ^ | Apr 04, 2010 | Vinnie Iyer

Donovan McNabb has been moved, but he won't need to go all the way out to Oakland. According to a report by ESPN on Sunday night, Philadelphia has agreed to deal McNabb to division rival Washington.

In exchange, the Eagles will get a 2010 second-round pick (No. 37 overall), and either a third- or fourth-round pick in '11. McNabb said he wouldn't be happy with going to the Raiders, and instead stays in the NFC East with the Redskins. McNabb makes sense for the QB have-not in the division, especially with West Coast passing guru Mike Shanahan taking over the team in the offseason.

The move leaves the Eagles with Kevin Kolb as their starter, and makes Michael Vick the backup. McNabb's addition in the Nation's Capital likely signals the end of Jason Campbell's time in Washington.

I’m always surprised at how little value many big name athletes have in this era of free agency.

How can anyone be a football fan when the guys are traded like this? What a joke...and a big waste of life....for the watchers.

I am a Pats fan, and I would be interested in hearing what YOU think of the trade.

Personally, I think it is a good move for Washington (Not just because I think McNabb will help them, but because I always got the impression he is one of those quarterbacks who plays more effectively when he has an axe to grind)

I’m a Ravens fan first, an Eagles fan second. Damn glad to see he’s gone. Throws the ball point down too often to avoid interceptions. No run after the catch.

Has been airing it out with DeSean Jackson on board but the two performances against the Girls at the end of last year probably sealed his fate.

I’m in Doylestown for Easter, Mom was very pleased when she heard the news and she really doesn’t watch football, just knows the Eagles are better when someone other than McNabb is QB (she listens from the kitchen to the TV while getting dinner).

Ahh. My condolences. I don’t follow Eagles football, so...my knowledge is limited in respect to them.

I used be a fanatical Skins fan back in 1971, but it caused me to stop watching football for about ten years due to needing to get er...un-addicted...

I’m a Cowboys fan and we’re still going to beat the Skins and Eagle at least twice this season. We beat the Iggles THREE times last year with McNabb. The more things change, the more they stay the same.

Campbell was too weak to make it in the NFL. Every time he got going last year, one bad hit would take him down again. McNabb will do well in D.C.

I’d like to see what a healthy Colt Brennan can do.

The more things change, the more they stay the same.

As Tony Romo learned the following week against the Vikings.

Thanks for the playoff whuppin', though. Without it, we might have been stuck with McChoke for another season. Now your guy is the NFL's undisputed post-season chokemaster.

Well, first of all.. .its good because Jason Campbell was a disaster going nowhere. Campbell was immobile, and, although he has a big arm. . .poor accuracy. Defenses did not fear the long ball from Campbell and played receivers tight. . .Zorn got Campbell to a quicker release and that helped. . .but it wasn't enough to compensate for a strictly one-dimensional and predictable thrower.

Is McNabb the answer? Probably not, but definitely Campbell wasn't. McNabb will keep the seat warm while they find the answer. . maybe go 9-7 and dribble into the playoffs. . .which would be a great first season for Shanny.
