Mine is a nickname that was given to me in college; Per is part of my given name + dogg meaning dog, well you should guess by now. Perdogg with one "g" didn't look right.;)

Several people said I was the ‘posterchild’ for the environmental movement because I lived in a city without a car for several years. (It was not because of ‘environmental’ concerns though) Now that I live in the suburbs I have a reel type lawn mower and my neighbors probably think I’m similarly an econut.

Safrguns is the southern slang pronunciation of "Safer Guns".
It's a dig against the "Safe Sex" crowd and movement instigated and promoted by the Condom Queen Joycelyn Elders (Clinton Administration Surgeon General) who in a speech once called for "Safer Guns and Safer Bullets".
