we didn’t go in via a tunnel, we went over GW bridge and exited via the Holland Tunnel to go home. We spent the night at a doubletree hotel in Ft Lee. even though they wouldn’t permit the dogs to stay in the hotel, it had a covered garage and they at least had some grass to pee on. we were chatting with the waiter, a guy named FRANK, he was a dago, at dinner there and asking him questions etc about parking in the city etc. I mentioned something about the dogs not being allowed and he said, why didn’t you bring them in anyway, say it was medical. We roared! i said yeah, seeing eye cavaliers, that’s the ticket!

FWIW.......when in NYC nobody speaks to you or is helpful. while traveling on the metro into DC people offered their assistance. they even walked me to the next train platform and left me exactly where I needed to be, telling me what exit to get off on to get where I was going. DC was like another world. I was seated next to ladies in fur coats and they were so nice. I was traveling with my daughter who was a toddler then and they would help with my stroller. it was an amazing experience.
