Ohio’s commitment to suffering-free execution? There’s your problem. Where does the Constitution guarantee that sort of thing? Cruel and unusual, yes, but I can’t see where someone is guaranteed they will not suffer during the execution. Especially because one doesn’t get on Death Row without committing a heinous crime along the lines for torture of his or her victim(s).
If this line of reasoning is accepted, we will soon see that Ohio can’t execute anyone for whom anticipating the execution might cause mental pain and suffering. (Course, that’s the goal of the anti-death penalty folks.)

If he has to suffer a little to get it done, why that's just the price we have to pay for justice.
Shoulda thought about it before he killed someone himself.
Allergic to a bullet then? How about the electric chair? How about a rope? I can think of some more if necessary.
The EPA would file for a stay because of lead content...
