Surgeon Cut Off Testicle 'By Mistake' At Bury Hospital
Dr Al Hourani was working as a locum surgeon at Fairfield General Hospital. A patient lost a testicle during an operation because the surgeon cut it off by mistake, a General Medical Council (GMC) hearing has been told. Dr Sulieman Al Hourani was only supposed to cut out a cyst, but removed the whole right testicle instead. Dr Al Hourani was a locum surgeon at Fairfield General Hospital in Bury, Greater Manchester, at the time of the surgery in September 2007. He is accused of misconduct and also of stealing medication.
It is alleged the doctor, who is now practising in Jordan and was not present at the hearing, also injected himself with a drug meant for a patient. Sarah Prichard, counsel for the GMC, said the mistake was made as a nurse helping the surgeon turned her back to get a stitch. When she turned around the testicle had been removed. Doctor dismissed Ms Prichard said: "Literally as the nurse turned away to get a transfixion stitch, the incident occurred and the testicle was removed.
"Such was the level of concern they immediately realised it could be a serious medical incident and took steps to complete the relevant documentation." A month later it is alleged that the doctor, who qualified after studying at Jordan University of Science and Technology, stole two boxes of dihydrocodeine from a treatment room on a ward at the same hospital.

Geez, the guy went from numbnuts to nuts gone with the stroke of a scalpel.
Another one to add to your list.
From a V-twin to a lawn mower engine in one swipe!
I’m guessing you can’t just put the testicle on ice then remasculate the guy with it later...
“Suddenly...I’m not half the man I used to be...”
Apparently, this guy took being a nutjob seriously.
Missed it by THAT much!
I know I sound heartless, but not understanding the history of health laws in the UK, I have to assume that these people voted for this system (or voted for the people that created it). Either way, it's just the laws of sowing and reaping.
With Obamacare, if you like your doctor, you can keep him. Or, and here’s the good part, suppose you can’t afford a doctor - a court appointed doctor from Jordan will be assigned to you at no cost.
No more teabaggin’ for him!
Here’s the pitch....”Ball One”.
If you think the cost of healthcare is high now, wait `til it’s free.
Here comes the “ambulance chasers”!
You owe me a keyboard. I'll never get the coffee out of this one.
MM (in TX)
My gosh, don’t they know about Duct Tape? My husband could fix that problem real quick.
Sometimes you feel like a nut; sometimes you don’t.
Pelosi and Reid will be hiring this ghoul for their DeathCare by the end of the week.
My guess is the doctor was doing a little jehad on the side.
Just another member of the “Religion of Peace” removing a piece of a non-believer.
Islam Delenda Est - because they are forcing us to actualize it.
Balls!, cried the Queeen
If I had two I’d be King!
And, the King laughed
Not because he had to
But, because he had two!
Another foreign doctor...better get used to ‘em as the new American NHS will keep bright young people from entering medicine.
I thought I had a good laugh from the “suddenly” post...only to see this and darn near wet my pants laughing!
I wonder if the NHS will approve one of these as a replacement?
On the bright side, the patient is now training for the Tour de France. When asked why he said, “if it worked for Lance Armstrong, why not? By the way, do you have Sheryl Crow’s phone number?” ;)
He’s a uniballer!
