Poizner didn't even vote for Bush. Poizner donated $10,000 to the Gore recount, and donated money to the Gore and Kerry campaigns. He is from my town and ran for State Assembly in this area. He refused to answer who he was voting for, in such a way it was clear he supported Kerry. His main campaign fund-raising event was inviting Richard Clarke to speak at event, on his recently published book that said President Bush was a criminal and the WOT was bad. He sent out mailers in the town trashing Republicans and portraying them as evil. He refused to allow his material to be in the local GOP office, and his volunteers sabotaged the local Bush-Cheney GOTV efforts. If he is elected, he will be the most anti-tax cut governor in California history. He has had a long-running crusade to make taxes higher. For example, he donated $200,000 to the pro-tax Prop 39 in 2000. In 2006, he joined an effort to abolish Prop 13. He has long wanted to end Prop 13, and that's his no. 1 goal as governor. Jerry Brown, the Democrat candidate, is fiscally conservative by comparison. He never donated any money to Republican candidates before the 2000s. He is extremely pro-abortion (for partial birth abortion, taxpayer money funding abortion); extremely anti-gun; Pro-taxes; pro-homosexual marriage; pro-big government; attacks Republicans as, "destroying the environment." My question is: what do you find right about him. No candidate is perfect, but I don't know anything good about him. He's also a giant jerk, to boot. No Republican in their right mind would ever vote for him.

I need some proof of all this. What yuo charge is so overwhelming that it calls for some verification. Not all of it, just a few of the points would be nice.

For example, you write: “He refused to answer who he was voting for, in such a way it was clear he supported Kerry.”

The parts about him donating to the Gore and Kerry campaigns should also be pretty easy to verify. Do you have those records. I would think you would since you have thrown out the charges.

On the effort to abolish Prop 13, there is a high percentage of elected officials at all levels of government that preach the evils of Prop 13. The League of California cities certainly would like to see it disappear and most cities vote to belong to it.

If what you say is true, then it sounds like the best choice for California is Brown because Whitman is as awful as you make Poisner out to be.
