Obama: Show proof of health insurance but not citizenship (Vanity)

Posted on 04/24/2010 8:31:23 AM PDT by TigerBait

So just to be clear, it's constitutional to penalize someone for not showing proof of health insurance but not request proof of citizenship?

???

Looks like that’s about the size of it.

The clarity of simple truth.
Can’t say much more about that one.

Obama needs to show proof of his own citizenship before he starts complaining about anyone else. Show it Obama or STFU!!!!!!!

I’m stealing your logic for my new tagline.

Yes. And you have to show your birth certificate to join the military to take an order from someone who didn’t have to do the same.

Officially, he’s already shown proof. The problem is that the proof was not really proof, and trying to argue it in court is like trying to argue in court that the income tax code does not say you have to pay income tax. You just get laughed out of court.

Both, actually, are seen by the general public and courts as very similar, even though they are both valid claims.

I hate to say it, but that seems to be how it is. You have to win in the court of public opinion before this thing will get legs.

Do you know how profound this is? My gosh. I hope you do not care if we all borrow the question. I mean, that really puts it into perspective.

I am beginning to think that liberals do not think an American citizenship means anything. It used to mean everything, something exceedingly wonderful and worth working towards among immigrants. It was considered an honor to be an American citizen and partake in all the freedoms and responsibilities such a deep honor brought.

This really goes to the heart of the matter. Obama maybe better steer clear of Arizona. Other states need to support our immigration laws. Does Washington, D.C. have any immigration statutes that could be enforced?

The people who think American citizenship is meaningless are the people who elected BO.

BO's behavior described here lends weight to the argument that he is incapable of proving his own citizenship, much less his natural-born citizenship.

Oh, I agree with you...this law could have a MAJOR impact on that liar in the White House.

Hmmm, good question. I don’t know about DC statutes.

You’ll probably need to show an “insurance exchange” card to vote.

And correct me if I’m wrong, but it’s wrong to ask someone for ID to vote, but it’s OK to issue cards proving it’s OK for someone to work???

This shows the absurdity of liberal thought. Good shot!

Last Spring, Obama came to Phoenix to give a commencement speech at the AZ State, I am sure to rub McCain's nose into his win, as he also went to Annapolis where his son was graduating.

I'd like to see him come back to the state, maybe to the U of A in Tucson, where his reconquistador (sp) movement is seething, and defend his O’Care and the “civil rights” of illegals. We, the very active tea party here, would greet the Barbarian at our gate with a hail of signs abusing him of his actions.

We would not lob water bottles at him, we're not a gang, but he'd fight back with a water cannon at us, I'm sure. But, he would be too cowardly to stick his arrogant nose around here again.
