Does anyone know what is up with E-Trade? Their customer website seems to be down, as does their call center. There was no notice of scheduled downtime, so it looks like something bad has happened.
Unresponsive here, not sure if broken or just too much traffic.
Happens all to often, but I was on it 6 hours ago without problem.
Dad? Dad?
(Sorry - never been to the site. I like their commercials though.)
Obama nationalized the stock market and banks about an hour ago. He now has direct access to our money. ;o)
Well both the website and (more surprisingly) the call center have been down for the last hour or so. I was on it and started seeing strange things occur - account balances started suddenly disappearing, with the account status being shown as unavailable and then the accounts themselves disappeared. Looks like some sort of major systems failure.
Servers seem to be back up now.
I notice that the NIKKEI is plunging tonight. Maybe they’re just getting heavy traffic with people trying to save a pantload.
The baby vomited on the server?
the president has decided that the entire democratic process tedious and inefficient. “the financial system was broken”, he declared. “we just enacted urgent unprecedented reform without playing all the washington games . . . like congress voting on stuff”.
next up: elections.
The PPT just getting started a little early on mitigating the crash tomorrow....
LOL! - well I’m one of them and want to get my ASSets out of Europe ASAP. Anyway their servers may be back, but not the ability to access one’s accounts!
Just checked my account...unfortunately (I bet against the dollar before I had any clue that the geeks would go south).
Keep in mind that if the site does go down, particularly at this hour when a LOT of people are checking their accounts, but relatively few people are available to take calls...their call center will, of course, get overloaded.
“The baby vomited on the server?”
LOL! The web site is up now but there is no excuse for them going down with today’s technology.
I am betting on that “skankapotomus”
It was on the list of ten companies that would fail this year .... Motorola was another one ...
I don’t know but world markets are falling significantly. Nikkei (Japan) is down 276 right now and, Hang Seng (Hong Kong) down 314.
Works for me. Just activated my new id thingy.
Finally got through to Etrade call center - they admit that they are having “an issue” regarding Etrade Bank and Etrade Global. No estimated time of resolution...
Do I need to ask the most relevant question?????
ha ha, I actually do like those commercials don’t you?
