Good morning!

A devastating ecological disaster is overtaking the Gulf Coast area. Some criticism is being aimed at the O administration for its slow response, but ultimately it'll be the oil and energy industry, and us, the consumers, which will bear the weight of government control to come, I fear.

Rahm Emmanuel's rule to never waste a good crisis comes to mind once again.

Good Morning. It looks a little windy out there this morning. The branches are whipping around like crazy.

Glad you kept b’fast out, been having ‘puter’ problems and besieve me, I need this.

Just a bad day, rainning, wind blowing, gulf problems with the oil spill, Oh well, a little rain must fall in our lives but. not as much we are having from the big sky up high.

I alway liked the one ‘CHUCH AHEAD’ then a sign right behind it, one arrow poining up, one arrow pointing down.

I have not been feeling top dollar today, missed church.

Reckon we are soooo blessed that we will addressed by Obama, wonder if anyone will ask him why didn’t he respond sooner.

OK, I finally found some of the pics I have, but I can't find the really good ones, and of the ones I found, these are the best (which isn't saying much). Nevertheless...all of the following pics are from mid-December, 1996...

Trevi Fountain
This is the Trevi Fountain as you see it approaching from the promenade coming from the Spanish Steps. One minute you are walking down a narrow street lined with brick buildings, nothing special, then, there it is.

Trevi Fountain
Close-up of Trevi Fountain. If you see this just after dark, the lighing and the effect are spectacular. (Ahem, notice the fine leather goods store on the right, Raven. They're all over the place, but there is one street in particular that has them all lined up and they all compete on price. If you're looking for gifts and such, I mean. ;-))

Ponte Sant'Angelo Bridge
This is the Ponte Sant'Angelo bridge to Vatican City. We walked all the way from the Spanish Steps to the Vatican (next time I'll take a cab and stop to take a pic ;-)).

Castel Sant'Angelo
This is the view of Castel Sant'Angelo from the bridge, entering Vatican City.

Saint Peter's Cathedral
Saint Peter's Cathedral, taken standing at the center of Saint Peter's Square. The evergreen tree on the right is a 60ft. Christmas tree, and next to that is a larger-than-life-size creche, both of which are over-sized to match the scale of everything else in St. Peter's Square.

Sorry I don't have more -- I'll go searching this afternoon...;-))

Our asparagus is coming up. I picked 4 tender stalks and they never made it to the pot. Ate them raw. Yummy!!

Come to think of it, that Christmas tree may have been 100ft. tall...;-))

Youuuu LUCKY GIRL...I want a fresh off the stem asparagus. I just love them. I do buy fresh asparagus at the store, and the produce manager does rinse one bunch off for my ride home...it’s 35 miles from there to here..so a good many don’t make it in our door. I even like the white ones raw, they have a milder taste. I usually buy 3 bunches of those, ‘cause Roomey loves them too.

Don’t know why but our asparagus stopped coming up about 2 years ago, but our neighbor just brought us over a whole bunch that he just picked this morning in exchange for Mr Geee having fixed something for him :)
