"The power to tax is the power to destroy" has never been clearer. 500% tax on ammunition? Suppose the fascists imposed a new tax on churches; say annually $1000 per parishoner. How would that be any different?

I see no violation of the Constitution by shredding the cases and destroying the value, thus wasting colossal amounts of money. Government does that all the time.
There is no Constitutional prohibition against that! Although I would argue that that constitutes lack od due diligence is fiduciary responsibility to the American taxpayer, and incompetence in governance.

It’s ‘different’ because that would be congress “prohibiting the free exercise thereof” [religion].
Everyone knows that “shall not be infringed,” in regards to firearms, means only by the government... which is why they have full-autos, high-capacity magazines, and silencers!
