If I had my way, I would sentence her to live with some Amish family for 6 months. Just maybe something would sink in and she would learn there is a purpose outside herself.

I understand what you're saying, but the Amish are a remarkably dysfunctional lot. They're kind of romanticized in the media, for whatever reason - perhaps because they keep to themselves and cause absolutely no one else any harm. But they have a lot of problems within their own communities, and within their own families.
Strangely enough - and much like Robert Downey, Jr. - the only that's going to save that young woman is 6-months in jail, perhaps a little longer. At least she's not driving anymore, so when she does go down, she'll hopefully only take herself, and no one else.
