I admit to being in the process of getting informed on this race, but this interview impressed me. Is there a reason to distrust Fiorina?

I don’t get the big deal on her.

She was a gender pick at HP and failed.

She is a PC NeoCon at best.

Now she is gender pick for Kali senate...

let them fight it out....I don’t see why Palin figured to jump the primary on this hunch

how much better are RINO senators?

No. There is no reason to distrust her. I have spoken with her several times. I will speak with her again next week. She is the real deal.

The reasons for opposing her that have been posted in this forum are specious and frequently taken out of context.

As an example, one person cited me to a speech she gave more than two years ago in support of McCain. In particular this poster was concerned about her favorable reference to McCain's support of cap and trade. For gosh sakes folks, since she was speaking in support of the man, she had to say something nice and, apart from his honorable war record, there's not much there. I know for a fact that she would vote against either Waxman-Markey or Kerry-Boxer.

Another poster cited me to the website for her foundation, claiming that it shows she is a "progressive." Not being familiar with the foundation, I followed his advice and investigated it. I urge you all to do the same. My conclusion was that the person who referred me to it does not know the definition of the term "progressive." The foundation supports, with its own money, not taxpayer money, microfinance in the developing world, women in the Muslim world, leadership training in Africa, and female entreprenuers. These are worthy causes for private charity. Her support of them with her own money does not mean she would vote in favor of the use of public dollars for those purposes.

At one of my meetings with her, I pointed out that we have a real problem with the Endangered Species Act. She promptly ordered up a position paper on it. Most Freepers would heartily agree with it.

There are reasons she has been endorsed by Sarah and by major pro-life organizations: she is a conservative and the conservative with the best chance to beat Campbell. DeVore has little money and very little chance of beating Campbell. However, if he wins, i will vote for him. A more likely result is that his false charges that Fiorina is not a conservative will divide the conservative base and lead to a primary win for Campbell.

To start when asked about the stimulus, she said that the stimulus didn’t work because it wasn’t big enough. That’s a progressives answer.

Her initial reaction to the AZ illegal immigration law was that there seemed to be a racial component to it.

When asked who her favorite senators were she praised Diane Feinstein and John McCain.

Probably the best insight can be obtained from the people she managed at HP. Many seem to detest her and blame her for many of HPs problems. The fall campaign if she gets the nomination will be a series of HP based attacks on her leadership skills, decision making, and her methods of dealing with subordinates. They will label her as “Fired-CEO” and expect Boxer to do ads like “HP fired her, why should we hire her?” She will not be able to defend herself against so many accusers. DeVore can only be attacked on his voting record which they will say is too conservative for CA. He is very comfortable defending his voting record.
