Who defines porn? What other categories of media will Apple censor?

Well, they'd start off with the Glenn Beck Show, seeing as how they're already "boycotting" that one. It wouldn't be too long before Free Republic made the black list. It'd go on from there. Then when kids log on to the internet through their iPads the experience would be scrubbed clean of inconvenient ideas just like it is in China (or your local college campus). But don't worry, want some inspirational Che quotes? Or tactics on how to argue with a Christian? There's an app for that!

I have mixed emotions about pr0n.

And that's the number one objection I have. It reminds me of a Keith Laumer Retief novel where Retief gets arrested on charges including "possessing racy pictures of unfertilized ova." What constitutes pornography very much depends on the eye of the beholder.

Pornography isn't very good, but it's better than the alternative of censorship.

Given a choice between viewing pictures of hot women and watching movies with a lot of violence, I'd prefer my son doing the former not the latter, though it would be better if he were doing something more useful like hacking software on an Open Source project - "No TV for you until you finish coding the feature in foo.el that I asked you to code" or something like that.

Police your own kids. Keep your flash-bang no-knock raids to your own house, not mine, thank you.
