Looking for name/artist of song
my brain ^ | 5/19/2010 | Me

OK, this has been driving me crazy. There is a song that every time I hear it, I think it is an instrumental version of the Ghostbusters theme song. And no, it is not Huey Lewis. I think Rush sometimes uses it as bumper music.

I looked it up one time a long time ago, and found the answer, but forgot it and now can't track it down again. It was somebody like the Ohio Players, or someone like that. Real funky horn section.

Help me please with this ear-worm!!

think of the part right around when they say “who you gonna call”, then take out all the words.

Scroll down to "Cover Versions" and see if you recognize anything.

Youtube blocked.

It was definitely not Ray Parker or Huey Lewis. Like I said, someone like The Ohio Players. Huge horn section.

not My City was Gone. It’s not Rush’s opening music, sometime later in his show sometimes.

found it...

Soul finger by the Bar-Kays

Click on the play button and listen to the trumpet part. It sounds (to me at least) just like the Ghostbusters song.

Thanks everyone for your help
