I don't reload pistol ammo anymore, you can by range quality stuff way to cheaply to mess with reloading. When I carry I'm loaded with the expensive stuff.

I've got a 45 and a SW 40, I prefer to carry the 40. I can shoot it accurately at a much higher rate of fire while still sending 180 grain bullets down range.

That said the best gun is the one you have WITH YOU. I carry a .380 pocket pistol ALL THE TIME. When I carry my other gun, I carry TWO. If you don't get a pocket pistol, you won't have it on you when you need it. Like answering your front door....

Kel-tec .380 with hollow points here. I NEVER leave home without it. It’s never even out of reach. Lifetime warranty and made in Cocoa FL (my state). Can’t even tell it’s in my pocket.

I also have a small 9mm that I ‘thought’ of concealing. Forget about it. No way I’m lugging some 5lb. hardware around all the time with me.

I agree with you. My LCP with Crimson Trace is always with me. I don't think of it as a carry, it's just normal to have. The yard, the kitchen, where ever my cargo pants pocket goes, it goes.

There are times I want a round in the chamber and times I don't so I work the action several times a day. It only gets used about 1/3 of range visits but I do dry fire. Very long pull.

But answer the door? Really? We haven't done that in 10 years. Because some stranger initiates contact we accommodate? No.
