Police Say Census Workers Chased, Attacked, Threatened In Burrell Township.

BURRELL TWP., Pa. -- State police have charged an Indiana County man with assault, saying he allegedly attacked two teenage census workers.

According to police reports, 18-year-old Austin Kwisnek and a female juvenile were collecting data for the U.S. Census when Timothy Cowan chased them from his property on Hebenthal Lane in Burrell Township.

Police said Cowan, 43, proceeded to follow the workers' vehicle down the road after they left.

At one point, the workers' vehicle went off the side of the road and Cowan went up to Kwisnek's window and grabbed him by the shirt and neck, police said. According to the police report, Cowan then threatened to punch the girl in the face and used "vulgar" language toward her.

This census was doomed from the outset. It started when Team Zero decided to put it under the auspices of the White House. It continued when they sent out the forms boldly marked on the envelope that it was REQUIRED by law that you complete it and return it by a date certain. Then they used it as a slush fund to hire hundreds of thousands of workers with virtually no oversight or control of the paying of the workers.

Like so much other data that comes from this bunch I will have absolutely NO confidence in the figures they release. This is what happens when you let a bunch of unqualified people take on a complicated project and don’t have control of how they set about doing the job.

But you know, as aggravating and frustrating as all this is I know for a fact that it’s a necessary part of how our nation does business. We no longer have the ability to identify and fight evil until we see it and experience it. Look no further than 9/11 to see what it’s come to in our time. What did we get in the way of bipartisan, I hate that word, national unity following 9/11, maybe a month. Then it was back to the liberal playbook. Starting with the TSA and going from there.

Of course. WTAE is part of the mainstream media. You can expect that there are facts left out or misreported.

Waiting to hear the suspects side of things but if he did this w/o enough provocation, then try him and convict him.

So they employ child molesters AND minors???

I didn’t mind the census and participated every 10 years till 2000 when I received that long form which I thought was unnecessary and a violation of my privacy. Under this administration, the census is now on steroids. It has become corrupt and a tool for nefarious political agendas.

If Mr. Cowan ran the census workers off his property, I see nothing wrong with that. But if he did pursue and assault them after they were off his property, then that is wrong. Of course, we don’t know what the whole story is, and WTAE (and most of the rest of the mainstream media) probably won’t tell it.

Yep. Looks like the census will employ ANYONE.

I said one of the reasons why I won’t answer the door for these folks is that I don’t know whether they are gang bangers or have some relationship to gang bangers. If I tell them I live alone, how do I know these temporary workers won’t decide to break into my home some night...maybe assault me or worse? For temporary workers, I didn’t think the administration would so something so logical as check backgrounds.

You’re right. They don’t state categorically that the guy is a major frikkin’ ahole and everyone in the county knows it.

Chasing them off property is one thing (one stupid thing), but then following them down the road?

LOL. No, just doing the same as you, filling in the details left out of the story with my own preconceptions and biases.

Ditto to everything you say! I used to consider it a pleasant obligation and was only too happy to comply. But now it's gone overboard. Typical of everything the liberal gets involved in doing.

I looked online one time at the 1930 census and found my Mom's family who lived in St. Pete at the time. It was all hand written, very neatly, each person in the household, five of them, and their birth dates. It was really neat to see that like that. Sadly that won't be the way it is for my grandchildren.

Personally, I was offended by the high pressure way they went at it from the git-go. Typical liberal BS, do it because I have the authority to tell you to do it.

So much of life is a search for the point of diminishing returns. They certainly seem to have gone way beyond that is this endeavor!

They should have left it right where it was, not moved it to the White House, and especially shouldn't have made such a big deal of using ACORN for so much of it. That, plus all the extra questions, just doomed it from the start. IMHO.

Gosh, your first post on this topic assumed that there was something untold, presumably something the census workers did to provoke the gentleman to behave as he did. That would be filling in details with your own thoughts, would it not?

We all do it, all the time. It’s called opining.

The ad pitch (and plea to churches) is that the census is important because it’s how the federal government determines where to spend money on socialist programs.

The ENTIRE point of the census is to apportion seats in the House of Representatives.

My first post said all that? Are you a mind reader? Were you "opining" or cracking wise or just talking out your azz?

Here's my first post;

"You just know there is going to be more to this than meets the eye..."

That means just what it says. How the hell did you divine all of that BS you just wrote from this sentence? I said we don't know what happened and we don't. The skeleton of a story made the guy look like..."a fricken' ahole" without any details. Maybe he is a "fricken ahole" but MAYBE the census guy p*ssed in his ear and told him it was raining. The point is, of course, we don't know the whole story...as I said...and neither do you. Or do you?

Yes, I was opining. That’s why I said that we all do it all the time. I’m part of the “all”. Hence all the things I said about a guy I’ve never met.

I see that it is OK for you to read between the lines, but you would prefer the same not to be done to your lines.

No problem.
