His first post is gone now so I can’t refer to the exact wording of it. My recollection is that he was calling into question both posts that use foul pejoratives AND posts that call for ill fates to befall homosexuals. Both types of post occur frequently enough. Your previous assertion was that he had said that “When a person accuses someone else of hatred and wanting to murder people simply for using pejoratives.” That isn’t even accurate applied to what you just quoted.
On the other hand, FReepers are quick to condemn the actions of the despicable Fred Phelps and his followers at Westboro "Church".
Maceman was replying to re_nortex who wrote: “There are those who would characterize God’s smiting of Sodom and Gomorrah as hostile. As for me, it was righteous justice from the Lord.”
Agreed, Maceman wasn’t implying re_nortex wanted to murder homosexuals simply because re_nortex used a pejorative. However, he did imply that re_nortex was using similar arguments (God’s righteous justice) as the Muslims, and then Maceman implied that re_nortex would stone gays (since he was using a similar argument).
As for tlb’s comments, he didn’t post the link or article title to the thread he mentioned. If I could find it, I would love to read it for myself. A pro-gay poster doesn’t deserve to be treated impolitely, but that doesn’t mean he or she shouldn’t be forcibly refuted. The use of a pejorative against them would definitely be impolite IMHO but doesn’t rise to intent to murder.
In regards to Maceman, I agree there was more involved than pejoratives. However, Maceman’s implications were unjustified. God will definitely not permit unrepentant homosexual offenders to enter heaven. Just because re_nortex believes God’s wrath falls on (unrepentant) homosexuals, it doesn’t mean re_nortex wants to stone homosexuals himself.
Do you think it’s hateful to say God hates sin?
