If you read yesterdays thread in George Washington, Oops! My, bad you might have seen this mentioned by @racist. He bought a copy of the Constitution from Amazon, and upon reviewing his purchase, read a shocking statement from the publisher inside the book. He was kind enough to scan the page for iOTW and it is for real.
Here is the books page on Amazon.com. If you read the reviews-other folks are surprised/shocked/angered too. Why does Amazon still use A&D Publishing/Wilder Publications if their product is defective and biased? You might want to ask them.
Or, maybe youd like to write a letter directly to:
A & D Publishing PO Box 3005 Radford,Va 24143-3005
or contact: Wilder Publications
If you do contact them be respectful. As with the tea party, it takes one nasty comment or sign to paint everyone else with a broad rightwing/racist etc brush. Show them more respect than they show to our Founding documents.
Im wondering, is this what Obama and company think about the Constitution? Is this the copy that Elena Kagan has been using to determine rulings of cases and teachings in school? Things that make you go, WTF?!?

Geez...these people are everywhere and insert their views in everything.
Amazon is now on my “do not buy from these idiots” list. Perhaps Amazon was not aware of the offensive remarks in the publisher’s notes, and will take this book off their shelves when they find out.... let’s hope so. Our voice here is our wallets. Don’t buy from them and let them know why.
Well, what a concept! Our Declaration of Independence is out-dated. These deep thinkers would have us forgo independence and revert to a vassal state of the British Monarchy.
What drivel.
There is an easy solution here.
Patronize used book stores, and get your hands on works of history printed BEFORE 1965 or thereabouts.
You miss out on the reciently-declassified stuff, but at least you will know what happened.
I use pre-WWII history books...
Welcome to the world of liberalism. Your tax dollars have paid for the colleges and universities to teach this bullshit, cowshit, horseshit, dogshit for years. Now political correctness is all the vogue. The constitution in their eyes is irrelevant. Does the current occupant of the Whine House give a rats ass about what is happening in America. he could careless what happens on Main Street, as long as he gets the adulation and praise. whenever something is wrong it is Bush’s fault. BS from a dumb arroganant assinine politician. Here is your hope and change.
The salient issue is whether the Tea Party sentiment will jell into a patriotic fervor with the ability to sustain itself beyond fleeting victories.
Winning the Congress this fall means nothing if Congress does not kill health care and stop the Obama revolution in its tracks.
We will need to withstand the banshee ravings and screechings of countless progressives if our nation is to be saved. Tough love will be the order of the day.
I want to shake your hand.
You hit it squarely.
I am soooo disgusted with what passes for “education”...our poor children know no better.
I have decided to teach them myself. Our history cannot be forgotten or distorted by these bas-tards.
The statement does not prescribe what this discussion should be. I think doing so is an excellent idea, as a way of immunizing the kids against the liberal virus of relativism and chronophobia.
This book is a product of its time and does not reflect the same values as it were if it were written today.
Anybody really disagree with the actual wording of this sentence? In actual fact, of course, the Constitution has been changed in numerous ways since it was first written, by the amendment process.
Parents might wish to discuss with their children how views on race, gender, sexuality, ethnicity and interpersonal relations have changed since this book was written before allowing them to read this classic work.
I think this is an excellent idea. Allows one to point out how not all such changes have been positive in nature.
BTW, I’m fully aware that the real shocker is that an outcry would immediately ensue is a similar “warning” were placed on works of gay pornography or other material offensive to conservative Americans.
