“Gone with the Wind” admission 75 cents to $1.10? That was serious money in 1940 when the minimum wage had just been raised to 30 cents/hour.

Going to the movies still isn’t cheap today either. I think the only thing that brings the cost per wage down today is many people do what I do...wait for it to come out on video. You couldn’t do that in 1940.
