I think that when a scholarly fellow ,like Campbell once was, becomes an instant celebrity and garners the adulation of hollywood types and ubiquitous college kids, he loses a sense of trust. I do not trust the insight of anyone who elevates a pop film to classical status. Shakespeare and his ilk are eternal, Star Wars is hackneyed.
