The NCAA just blew up USC football's world by forcing the Trojans to forfeit their victory in the '05 Orange Bowl ... a win that earned them the National Championship.

This all comes after an NCAA investigation concluded Reggie Bush got improper benefits while at USC.

According to the NCAA findings Bush received a car, and his family received a house and other financial benefits.

So this one really is Bush’s fault.

I guess that Texas-USC championship game never happened, hee hee.

USC played Oklahoma for the championship that year.

I was referring to the next year where USC lost to Vince Young and the ‘Horns.

This was swirling around for the past few years so the Boy Wonder knew this could happen.

Excuse me? Exactly which championship-level college football team does not lavish fortunes on their star prospects? I'll answer for you...NONE. Its why the alumni drowns the program in "recruitment" money year after year.

FYI: Some (incredibly adorable) USC students worked unbelievably hard to get their scholarships without being the least bit "Spoiled" and had to dodge gang fights and step over drunks to get to campus every damned day. Jerk.

USC played Oklahoma for the championship that year.

But USC's #1 ranking for the entire 2005 season was due to its national championship win the previous season against Oklahoma.

Would have been nice if the ruling came down BEFORE National Signing Day.

Yeah, 2004 was the year Mack Brown abased himself to get to the Rose Bowl instead of Cal. So now Cal is the 2004 Pac-10 champion and still hasn’t played in a Rose Bowl since 1960.

About 12 Saturdays a year, I root unrelentingly for two football teams - my alma mater, and anyone who is playing USC.

To me, this news is like Christmas is June.

"Would have been nice if the ruling came down BEFORE National Signing Day."

I think that there's precedent for letting freshman transfer in such instances, without making them sit out a year. Could be wrong.

WOW!!! Plus the article mentioned UT and A&M joining the Big 10 leaving both Tech and Baylor hanging.
