The Constitution specific a federal census every ten years.

No. It is an "Enumeration" (Article I, Section 2, Part 3). The "Enumeration" is strictly for the apportionment of Representatives to the House. Please show us where the "Census" is referenced in the Constitution. Maybe some of us that have read it a few hundreds times missed it.

I think it would be fun to have the census worker come to my house.

Usually, that would be the case. We sent ours in, but they came by anyway. Turns out they had hired the young lady from 3 houses down to cover our neighborhood. Since she and my daughters are friends, I had to be nice.

There's almost never a reason to "take it out" on the lowly worker, as long as they are trying their best and being polite about it. It's ungracious and without class to treat service people badly. They're usually working in a sh!ty job, getting sh!ty pay, with a sh!ty boss, with no power to fight back against those who may mistreat them, and they are usually providing you with some kind of essential service, no matter how trivial that service may be. You should be thanking God that you aren't having to do their job. In a worst case scenario, you can politely ask to speak to their supervisor for help if they are completely clueless, and you really, really need whatever it is that they are trying to provide you.

I was subjected to the much worse "American Community Survey" a couple of years ago. When the follow-up came to the door, I stated

After about the sixth one she turned and left. She came back when my wife was home. My wife simply stated "I think you have the wrong person." That worked just as well.

My favorite story was the fellow who answered everything with the word "egg." When the came to his door, the only answer he would give was "egg." The more they asked, the more emphatic he got. "Egg. Egg! EHHHHHHH-GGGGGGG!!!" They didn't bother hm anymore.

Start by researching Title XIII Sec 221. Count you they must to satisfy the Government's responsibilities under Article I Section II of the Constitution. Mess with the enumerator and all you are doing is driving up the cost to the government. This is one of the few ways that you personally can waste government money just as fast as the gubermint itself can do the same. If you don't like the process, demand that your legislators change Title 13. Until then, stop wasting taxpayers money, take the 10 minutes, and complete the damned form.
