Let's not make things more complicated than they are. In the end, Texas A&M is sick and tired of living in the large shadow of the University of Texas. Sick and tired of Texas' success and money. Sick and tired of the never-ending arms race for newer and better facilities. Forget those arguments about travel and culture and television revenues. If Texas A&M jumps to the Southeastern Conference, it'll be because the Aggies have had enough of being compared to and defined by the Longhorns.

Al I can say is, HOOK EM!
Marcia! Marcia! Marcia!
The whole collapse of the Big 12 is puzzling. Missouri should have bolted to the Big 10 although school officials deny any talks a couple months ago when this first surfaced.
It’s all about big money in the Semi Pro college ranks.
I am disappointed frankly in the whole fiasco. There is no loyalty.
Are they still trying to screw in that light bulb??
Hook ‘em Horns
Gig ‘Em!
And as a Gator, I welcome Texas A&M to the best conference in the land.
Good move. SEC football contracts are far more lucrative than the PAC 10.
No doubt. Talk about self-induced inferiority complex.
Come to the SEC with my Hawgs. We’ll be waiting on you.
While I believe that that the Aggies fit in much better with schools like Tennessee, Mississippi, Arkansas, Mississippi State and Kentucky than they do with Texas, Stanford, Cal, USC and UCLA, I simply do not see A&M letting go of their Big Brother’s hand and bolting to the SEC.
“Good move. SEC football contracts are far more lucrative than the PAC 10.”
Not after Texas joins the Pac-10
Big 10 doesn’t want Missouri and has been known for sometime. They want Notre dame, and a school from the east like Pitt or Rutgers to finish out the expansion.
Missouri, like Kanasas, are facing a significant downgrade in the conference they will belong too. Sad for Kansas because they have a killer of a basketball program that deserves to be in a division with serious competition.
The Aggies worked my Wildcats over in `98. I’m not still sore about it. Oh no ...
It’s not why I walk around the house with my feet in Kleenex boxes or why I have been saving my urine in jars for ten or so years.
(further unintelligible, incoherent rambling and expletives deleted)
I saw a report saying the PAC-10 would having like the top 5 TV markets if the Big 12 south were to move there.
That’s lucrative!
Why - don’t they place Rice every year? and remember, the green stuff goes face up! ;)
Missouri talked a big game and claimed they were joining the Big Ten and now it looks like they are heading to the Mountain West or Conference USA.
Whine, whine, whine
