When was I asked about this? And what does it have to do with "Honest Abe" if Jeff Davis was a scumbag too?

Last paragraph of post #153.

Admitting the failings of the Tyrant of Richmond is a good first step.

Don't be a smartass.

You represented a superior knowlege of this incident was supported by the venerable black Republican NY Times and that their eyewitness 'reporter' was more credible than any number of distinguished historians who have since looked into the matter.

The reporter in question has been identified as a newspaper hoaxster who served time in jail for fabricating the news.

The burden is on YOU to prove he wasn't also lieing about Lincoln. Got it?

Don't be a smartass.

What, and deny his very nature?

Yes, because perhaps we wouldn’t be inthis situation we are in today with a communist President.

Or maybe you'd be in worse shape. Considering the precedent that Davis set that's a likely scenario.

Jefferson Davis isn’t the one held up on the pedestal.

So simply sending supplies to a fort that was deeded property of the United States

The state of South Carolina thought it theirs.

I think you'll like the lyrics to the Maryland State Anthem, Maryland, My Maryland.

Cheers!

The state of South Carolina thought it theirs.

Yeah, it's funny how a secession movement that claimed to be based on the defense of property rights pretty much immediately started disregarding those same rights. From the South Carolina state resolution of Dec. 31, 1836: " "Resolved, That this state do cede to the United States, all the right, title and claim of South Carolina to the site of Fort Sumter and the requisite quantity of adjacent territory"

You've gotten your revenge with LBJ, Carter, Clinton, and two Bush's.
