PORTLAND, Ore. — Detectives investigating the disappearance of a 7-year-old Oregon boy two weeks ago put out a call Friday for information on the whereabouts that day of his stepmother — the last person to see him alive.

Investigators refuse to say whether they have a suspect. Police passed out fliers Friday in hopes of jogging the memory of anybody who might have information on Kyron Horman's case, said Capt. Jason Gates of the Multnomah County sheriff's department.

A questionnaire that accompanies the flier has gone to everybody who was at Skyline School on June 4, he said. The boy was last seen there after a science fair he attended that morning with his stepmother, Terri Moulton Horman.

"Terri is the last known person to have seen Kyron alive before he disappeared," Gates said.

It sounds like the police have a suspect. I was suspicious of the step-mother’s story from the beginning of this ordeal.

I was too. But held my thoughts to myself.

It's about time. When the 4 parents finally surfaced, the Oregonian had a front page photo of the Mom and step-Mom. The Mom is visibly visibly upset, while the step-Mom has her eyes directed at the ground with no visible signs of duress. I know this is all based on one photo, but my wife and I picked up on it instantly. It's almost eerie. I'm sure law enforcement noticed the same thing.

Plus, the step-mom took two time-stamped photos of Kyron at a Science Fair prior to school, then within a half-hour, he disappears. I'd like to know where she was at as well. To top it all of, the step-mom kept posting on Facebook, even things like "Heading to the gym!" just days after Kyron disappeared.

My understanding is that on the day of his disappearance, the boy and his stepmother saw and spoke with his teacher, and that he even left his coat and backpack in the classroom. Yet, his teacher did not mark him as absent, nor was she worried that he wasn't in class even though she had seen him a short time earlier.

The reason being, so I am to understand, is that the stepmother informed the teacher that the boy had an “appointment.” But when questioned about the disappearance, the stepmother claimed that the “appointment” she was referring to was for the following week, and not on the day the boy disappeared. Coincidentally, the stepmother spent the day “doing errands,” but no one can account for her whereabouts, hence the police inquiry mentioned in the article. Additionally, the stepmother's Facebook page states that she's a fan of grisly crime dramas, like Dexter. When the boy disappeared, he was a wearing a CSI t-shirt.

The entire thing is incredibly suspicious, but I can understand the police wanting to take every precaution in building their case.

I called it minutes after it went into breaking news. Its all so very obvious. People want to believe and are extremely naive. I say guilty before proven innocent. How sad is that?
I need a doc.

“I can understand the police wanting to take precaution with case”............ BULL CRAP, times awasting. That poor boy is out there somewhere. This makes me mad and sad.

Only jurors are required to suspend judgment until all the evidence is in. It’s a fact of statistics that most crimes against children involve family members.

I would be curious to see what cell towers her phone pinged off of that morning.

It’s only natural the mother of the child would be more upset than the step-mother.

But regardless, since the step-mom was with the child last, she would be the main person of interest.
