According to the WSJ, the rights watchdog declared that "whether or not (Kilmer) had actually talked trash about his county, he had every right to do so without fear that his permits would be held hostage." I gotta agree with the ACLU here, but so what, torment him anyway.

This is your brain on KoolAid!
Someday Val ought to pick up a book on the subject of Viet Nam.... even one book would be nice because it is obvious that he never actually introduced himself to the facts.
But
before you shoot off your mouth. about ANYTHING on earth, it is a good idea to do some homework! Only Hollywood creeps don’t seem to comprehend this.

...he says-describing his rugged corner of New Mexico as “the homicide capital of the Southwest.”
Geez, who would want to spend a weekend in the homicide capital of the Southwest? This Kilmer dude is one smart businessman.
To: SeekAndFind
He’s a libtard,to be sure.
However, forcing a man to say or “unsay” anything in order to get a permit is, frankly, a little scary.

he had every right to do so without fear that his permits would be held hostage What right? He has the right to say whatever he wants. He also has to take his consequences of what he says. His comments hurt the image of his county. The elected officials of his county have the right to protect the business interests of the county. By denying his a zoning approval, the business interests of the county might be helped.

Val's Julliard Education is not serving him well currently.
The farther he gets away from Hollywierd the better for him. Northern New Mexico is just the place to escape to and Val has the $$ to make it so.

Why is it ‘surprising’ the ACLU is backing an America bashing liberal? Have they, or would they, backed/back a far right radical in similar circumstances? Now that would be ‘surprising’.
To: aloishammer
anything he does with his property has an impact on the community at large, just like his remarks do.

I don’t agree.
Sure, let him take the consequences from his neighbors, his family, or his friends (if he still has any).
When the government demands such an apology, it’s censorship, pure and simple.
