People who can’t cope with gators should live in Chicago.

Don’t hate the alligator, hate its owner.

That dog thought it was the meanest thing in the trailer park right until the moment it died.

"The gator just grabbed him and took him into a drainage pipe where he's been hiding ever since with my dog's body," I don't understand this comment. Does he think the alligator just took the dog and is hiding the dog's body under his flipper in a drainage pipe waiting to escape with his dead dog once the coast is clear?
Wouldn't the alligator have eaten the dog? Isn't that what alligators do?

Not really... alligators like their meat to be a little “aged.” They requently stash their kills under water in tangles of vegetation, under logs, or other nice hiding places, and allow it to ripen.

The guy owns a pit bull and lives in a Florida trailer park, and has probably been drinking out in the heat after buying the beer with his disability check. "One" is probably as high as he can count.

You are correct. But if this man had known this bit of info, he never would have allowed his dog anywhere near the canal to begin with. Same thing applies to small children.
To: Chet 99
Of course the gator won. Gators weight on average 10x what even a big dog does. And the fence idea is stupid: Any gator could burrow under just about any fence.
You want to protect your dog from a gator, carry a .357 magnum or a .45. And practice.

So the dog “thought”.
Brilliant.

A junkyard dog probably could have taken the gator. A trailer park dog just isn’t quite mean enough.

This ain’t news. I pit bull taking down a gator would have been far more interesting.
