Members of faith communities in Minnesota are holding a prayer vigil to call for immigration reform and denounce a new immigration enforcement law in Arizona.
The vigil at 4 p.m. Sunday at Arlington Hills United Methodist Church in Maplewood is part of a national effort that has been moving from region to region. This week, communities in Minnesota, Illinois, the Dakotas, Wisconsin and Michigan are participating.
Also in Minnesota, advocates for immigration reform will sign petitions that call on Gov. Tim Pawlenty to oppose legislation similar to Arizona's.

IF most mainline denominations had nearly the concern for eternal things that they do for the cause du jour not only would their denominations not be going down in flames, but neither would the eternal souls of many of those for whom they will be held accountable.
Whatever liberal doctrine tells them it should be.

“Faith communities” is code for Leftist political non-profits using religion as a thin veneer for politicking. Ditto for “social justice”, which is faith-community-speak for Communism.
