In NJ they don’t even bother with the death penalty.
I don’t normally watch The Closer, but it was on this weekend, and an episode was pretty good.
SPOILER ALERT
The main character in California was able to solicit the confessions of a multi-state serial killer by threatening to send him to Texas which proceeds faster than California (she showed the number of executions for a period of time in Texas versus California - a bunch in the Texas file, none in California file). He gave it up because he did not want to die.
The cop from Texas then manipulated her by showing her all the faces of the victims. She then changed her mind after the confession and authorized sending the killer back to Texas. It was a great moment. The cop from Texas was showed as a real professional also seeking justice who was wilier than the main character.
