I have been wondering about this. In the first ones I heard the woman's voice sounded stilted, like a badly read script. I got that impression from later ones as well.

Who among us, in the throes of a highly emotional situation, would not be further stressed by this level of scrutiny, whether genuine or not?

This reeks of witch-hunt, and has been played so many times on the liberal networks it's sickening. But not one word about "killing cracker babies"....Hmmmm.

I have wondered that as well. Also, her voice comes across more clear, as if she isn't on a phone line but he is.

Perhaps it is easily explainable by whatever equipment she was using to record the call, that it may "shield" her voice from sounding like a phone conversation, but it seems a strange effect if so.
