Who remembers what they were doing at the time?
In those years I was a member of a private musical and twirling organization for youth, called, The Weldonians. The night before, we had been on an outing, marching in some parade, or performing somewhere with the Show Band unit.
A dozen of us had a sleep-over at one member’s house in Fremont, California, so that we could all be together to watch the TV reports and feedbacks of the landing.
It was an exciting time.
Yeah, if not for the Obama administration we'd be on course to repeat the Apollo 11 landing in time for the 60th anniversary.
