ALEIGH, N.C. Protesters and police scuffled Tuesday at a school board meeting in North Carolina over claims that a new busing system would resegregate schools, roiling racial tensions reminiscent of the 1960s.
Nineteen people were arrested, including the head of state NAACP chapter who was banned from the meeting after a trespassing arrest at a June school board gathering.
"We know that our cause is right," the Rev. William Barber said shortly before police put plastic handcuffs on his wrists before the meeting started.

I’ll be at the next meeting.
The race card is expiring and the idiots on the Left are panicking...
The term “racism” was invented by communists. Leon Trotsky was one of the first to use it. When Whites engage in favoritism toward other Whites (and therefore discrimination against non-whites), its called racism. When other groups engage in favoritism, its called ethnic solidarity. When you buy into these word games, its called being a useful idiot.

I'm empethetic to these minorities. I'm sure that the schools in their neighborhoods are bad. Busing gives them access to better schools, and an environment that is perhaps more conducive to learning for their children.
What they should have is access to is alternative schools through an expansion of the voucher system. Get government out of the education business, and into the voucher business. Then people in the urban areas can build for themselves sound, safe and productive centers for education - and they can dump the union covens that currently masquerade as schools.
The free market works every place it's given a chance to work. Education would be no different.
Sorry for the double post...slow ISP, I guess?
