I remember being 8-9 and driving a tractor, snowmobile and hay trailer in the fields of my grandparents ranch to feed horses in the winter in Michigan.

My brothers, cousins and neighbors were all all doing the same, except for the snowmobile. Doesn’t snow much or even enough to justify one.

But, they did ride combines, motorcycles and ATV’s.

I did a month of haying. Never again.

I remember being 8-9 and driving a tractor, snowmobile and hay trailer ...

I learned to drive when I was 5. I was tall for my age, and my parents made me responsible for the clutch when they push-started the VW (my mom always left the lights on). It took a year or two before I learned to use the starter...;)

I actually learned to fly my mom's j-3 cub straight and level when I was 3. She even let me take it around the pattern when I learned to coordinate my turns.

But the funny thing is - I learned to ride a bicycle after I learned to drive - and I had to use training wheels...
