Isn't this the 2nd (announced) recall for Iams?
A few years ago their dry food was recalled.
Looks like poor QC may be an endemic problem for the company - time to switch (Science Diet maybe?).

That’s what we feed our kitty. She dances around the kitchen when I open a can, but the salmon especially makes her happy (man is it ever stinky though!). She talks up a storm meowing, and rubs all over my legs.
Our dogs like the dog version, hard and soft, but they are dogs, and happy with anything that appears in the food bowl. :P
Best of all, the um...remains that appear in the litter box or in the dogs’ case, backyard are so much smaller and less stinky than when we fed “other food.”

My Rocket is allergic to all that prescription diet crap. It has things like soy, corn, and “fish.” I don’t believe it’s really plain old fish because my Rocket has a severe reaction to it. He’s doing quite well on Classic Fancy Feast non-fish flavors. We have to give him subcutaneous hydration once a week, but other than that, he seems all right.
It’s good that he wasn’t able to eat the pre$cription $tuff.

Maybe you should takes Rush’s suggestion and feed grandma dog food!

My deceased father-in-law's father raised chickens commercially in order to sell the eggs. He was a real tightwad and so he also grew his own corn to feed his hens, rather than purchase it from a feedstore. He was so cheap he also fed boiled corn to all of his other animals, including the cats. The poor things were so hungry they would pounce on the steaming ears as they were being doled out.
So cats will eat corn (but If they had their druthers, I think they would prefer flesh).
