I’ve got a Canon AE-1 from 1979 that I just remembered I loved! All sorts of lenses and filters. I am so thankful you jogged my memory! I need to find my dust rag and then I will be a woman on a mission. Thanks again and have fun with your find.

I’m tempted to try to get that Canon working again. Putting it on program shots or adjusting the f stop or shutter speed with just a twist of the wrist was easier to do than navigate the menus on the el cheapo digital camera. (I haven’t yet spent the money on a digital that that Canon cost, about $300 as I recall.)

Ive got a similar SLR Canon from about the same era, gathering dust. I dont know where I would find a battery or film for it. Great in its time. Ditto here. IIRC it cost nearly $300 when it was new, not including lenses.

The Om1s are in the sideboard, carefully preserved from dust.
Haven't had them out since my first digital Oly in the 90s.
Ain't never goin' back.

Awesome!
Good for you!
I thought of you today..
I saw a Hawk sitting on a telephone wire, and pulled over to watch him for a bit.
It was beautiful..
I think it was a sharp shinned hawk.

If that was a woman, I’d marry it.
Ok, I admit it, I’m chromasexual.
May God have mercy on my halide.

I still have a Nikon 8008S with a 35-70mm zoom, and the Nikon 80-200mm F2.8 zoom. The 35-70mm is a $565 lens, and the 80-200mm is a $900 lens.
One of the best lense I ever owned was the Nikon fixed focus 135mm F2.0 lens. Wish I did not let that one go.

You can get negatives scanned and put on DVDs through Walgreens and other places. Once they're on the disc you can handle them just like any other jpg image file.
Walmart does this but I've been told the files they give you are compressed too much to print larger than 4X6.

Nice lens. I have an SRT-102 and a X-370 with MD & MC Rokkor-X 50mm lenses.
I learned the hard way that the X-370 is no good for astrophotography. The -102 is what is classified as a ‘combat camera’.

I took these pictures of the Minolta with my Olympus C2100 UZ from back in 2000. It was a long time before anyone made a better digital camera.
I love old stuff, I'm old myself!

I bought my Canon AE-1 in 1978 and have several lens’ for it. I have taken several thousand pics with it at various places around the world. I still occasionally use it. It is still a great camera.

Good for you SS, being a tradesman, at times I still use hand tools that my Grandfather used. Sometimes they are the perfect application to perform a certain task. What is old is new again, sorta of like our Constitution!
