NEW YORK Alex Rodriguez became the youngest player to hit 600 home runs and did it with style, driving a pitch into Yankee Stadium's Monument Park in center field exactly three years to the day after his 500th homer.
A-Rod reached the milestone Wednesday after a 12-game drought with a first-inning homer off Toronto's Shaun Marcum. Rodriguez connected with a 2-0 pitch over the middle of the plate for his 17th home run of the season, giving the Yankees a 2-0 lead on a sweltering summer afternoon.
By hitting the homer into Monument Park, a stadium worker could retrieve the ball for him.

The youngest player to hit 600 home runs playing for the winningest franchise in all of all of sports history. What a great milestone and success story!

Steroid user hits 600 home runs.

I knew I’d miss it. I should have just not watched for about a week and he would have got it sooner! I’ll have to catch the replay on YES.

5 minutes in and only 1 dig about steroids???? Come on Yankee haters, you’ve got much more envy and malice where that came from. Dig deep, find your true hatred and let it all out.

I hate the Yankees because I am a Mariner fan. But Arod should not be on the list of 600 or more home runs because he cheated. He admitted he cheated. That is not fair to the other players.
Barry Bonds should not be there either.

It's not hatred for the Yankees, but hatred for steroid users.
Like A-rod, Manny, David Ortiz (Red Sox), etc.
600 HRs is tarnished for A-roid.

THEY ARE PLAYING NOW? OMG! YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Haha. Took him long enough.
Finally got some protection with Lance Berkman in the order, and they had to pitch him a fat strike.

Until someone does it without steriods, I’ll still consider Roger Maris as the single-season homerun leader and Hank Aaron as the all-time homerun leader.
The Babe did it on hot dogs and beer, not steroids.

The Mariners could sure use some steroids and a little HGH this season.

I hate the Yankees because I am a Mariner fan. But Arod should not be on the list of 600 or more home runs because he cheated. Oh, I see. He used steroids kind of like Shane Monahan of the Mariners except A-Rod made the mistake of actually accomplishing something.

Congrats A-rod. You only had to use “performance enhancing” drugs to do it. Momma will be proud. Not a Yankee hater, but a drug abuse hater.

Nice straw man. Arod cheated. I do not know who Shane Monahan is but I do know Arod is not in Junior's league because he did not cheat.

I think it took them two months to get from 30 to 40 wins. They are truly pathetic this year.
