I think the fault can be found on all sides. I refuse to lay blame solely upon the left. I’m convinced there are people on the right that are stirring up the hornets as well. There are “conservatives” that believe the only way to solve the problem is to bring on the storm.

I won’t deny that a of me is anxiously awaiting the turmoil, but that is solely because I want to get it done and over with, and if my family makes it through I want them to enjoy the OTHER side of the conflict.

Regardless, I am honestly hurting because I know that I will be walking away from some people in my life because of their affiliations and the fact that we will be in opposition when the violence comes.

Every lawyer knew it could do no such thing, but it distracted from Obama’s British father and citizenship at birth., and shut the mouths of any legislative Republicans who might otherwise have raised the very obvious eligibility question about Obama. Harvard Const. Law Professor Larry Tribe was caught having plagiarized a book. He could and probably should have been dismissed, a law professor violating both ethics and copyright laws. But Kagen quietly convened a committee of progressives who talked until it blew over. There was no question of Tribe's complicity - though he blamed an assistant who wrote most of the book for him.

I am enlisting in the Texas National Guard. I hope to be approved for full time status.

I realize this will be an issue if violence breaks out during my enlistment term, but honestly I can’t deny that the inevitable conflict is part of the reason I am enlisting. I want the training and experience. I want to serve my country. I want to HONESTLY be the kind of man who is able to defend my family and my country, and has earned the right to call others to carpet.

And I want to know that I did everything I could, even if I didn’t always get things right.

Thanks, but I want to be clear that I wasn’t fishing for praise. I think the folks who have already served and are currently serving deserve that far more than I do.

My brother, who is on this forum, served. My parents served. My family has a history of serving. I regret that I am so late to answer the call.

Really, I think I owe you, and everyone else thanks and praise more than I will ever deserve it. It is folks like the people at Free Republic who have given me a country to WANT to defend, and that is a debt I can never repay.

But I’ll damn sure try by fighting tooth and nail against the left and doing my best to be ready when our soil is the site of violence. I HATE it, I HATE HATE HATE it, but I’m convinced we’re on the verge of civil unrest... if not civil war.

Thank you. Great post. I didn’t see it the first time around (I was busy relocating). I’ll go one further and say that America (and all that the name/character implies) *is* the modern nation/state representing those Israelite tribes lost to history. Not permanently lost though, just off the radar until the time of redemption... just as Joseph was sent ahead of his brothers in order set the stage for the great deliverance. He is presumed dead, but Joseph is still alive. :)

Somehow, I knew from your first post to me, that you’re one of our nation’s finest, and by that I mean, you’re enlisting for all the right reasons. I have a grandson (my eldest grandson) who’s currently in boot camp at MCRD in San Diego (his and my hometown). He enlisted in the USMC Reserves for the right reasons too. Yes, the same Elena Kagan nominated by the commander in chief to be the next justice on the U.S. Supreme Court has actually been playing a role for some time in the dispute over whether 0bama is legally qualified to be in the White House.

You have to understand the Republican way of thinking. The Republicans are thinking, "We may one day want to run an illegal candidate for President, and might want to cover it up at all levels of government, too."

That's not just a Republican way of thinking, it's politcians in general. They all want to do what the other guy did, especially if they can pad their pockets.
