Anyone have any insiders scuttlebutt of Netflix POV on USPS losses?

Does anyone have any knowledge of what the thinking at netflix is, in regards to USPS's losses, their threat to cut Saturday feliveries, and possible postage tate hiles?

Is Netflix taking this as a wake-up call to start hot footing their efforts to move more of their content onto their online 'Watch Instantly' libraries, and away from their DVD delivery service?

IMO they really need to develop this method with all due speed. And not just because I prefer my content from online, but because it may soon be their best, if not only option that they can reasonably profit from....Again,,,IMO.

But it sure would be good to know that they are going to be stepping up their efforts to present more new content for online viewing.

Are we talking about the same thing?

I'm not talking Blue-ray disc, I'm talking about streaming video.

I use their NetFlix Streaming disc in my Playstation 3 to stream movies over my home wifi network to my 52" Sharp Aquos.

Are you paying me? I am an incorrigibly bad typist with a old busted finger joint. I feel not the slightest tinge of reproach from anal retentive types that can’t make an effort to use their comprehensive skills to understand others errors in typing, without trying to act scornfully derisive. Your opinion of me and my typing, matters less than the gnat flying past my head. You’re a legend in your own mind.

I love watch instantly, but there is not enough selection. All the movies they offer should be available to watch instantly.

TV sucks, Netflix rocks!

The CEO has talked about it a couple of times. He is largely unconcerned. They like the speed with which the the streaming market is growing, they don’t expect many if any cancellations because of the lack of saturday deliveries (if it ever happens). All the netflix news you could ever care about is here http://www.hackingnetflix.com/ (including the CEO talking about the saturday thing 6 months ago).

So, now you’re an expert on how other people are allowed to spell their screen names? Do you now claim clairvoyant powers to figurwe out the etymology of names you’ve never heard before you saw them for the first time?

Typical Liberal...”experts” on everything that they are completely ignorant about...That you, Behar? :oD

I think that happens when you watch way too many movies.

I find the 3 DVD plan to be optimal. Always got a movie to throw in at any given time, and I usually end up mailing back two at a time in the same envelope. And there is always a movie or two worth streaming at any given time.

Good grief! The angst you are getting, losing *presentation points* -- you are perfectly comprehensible, regardless the typos (and I am reduced to one finger on the left hand, two and a thumb on the right typing my own self). Let's address YOUR POINT, shall we?

I use Netflix, unable to get out of my house for any reasonable amount of time, the last visit I made to a Blockbuster was a bitter disappointment. Zillions of copies of the *latest release* lining the wall, but try to get something from three, four years ago? Not to mention the only oldies on the rack are the tired, worn-out flicks. I like that Netflix includes many PBS/BBC dramas, things I've not seen. So far my experience with the service has been top notch, super-quick turnover, return-to-them-next-movie-in-queue-sent, and the couple of times I got a disc that wouldn't play, no questions asked when I needed to return, in fact, they sent the replacement before the bad one got back to them.

That *No Saturday deliveries* would only cause me to adjust my own schedule, I don't know how it would affect others. But boosting rates ... as far as we've been told, the next rate hike is to affect first-class postage only, the cost of a letter, not parcel post, shipping. Do the Netflix discs come under this category? This I do not know. If so, then that would mean an increase in their costs, it would of course redound down to us, the consumer.

I like the "Watch it on your computer" feature for some things, old TV shows, a minimum selection of films, but I hope any rate changes won't cause Netflix to become a predominately-watch-it-instantly-on-your-TV service, as I don't have that set up, don't know that I care to go that route. In the end, of course, if I have to, I will -- I suppose I can scrape up the dough necessary somehow.

But I appreciate the post, thank you for bringing up the subject.
