I read (actually listened to) a book about this last month,
Secrets of a Civil War Submarine. It was supposed to be a kid's book (I listened with my son), but it went into a lot of detail on the engineering, history and raising/restoration process.
The drawing you posted is probably based on engineer Alexander's article, written over 30 years after the sinking. It leaves out a number of details. The Hunley was even more advanced than thought.
