Well, .38 is “sorta” cheap, relatively, nowadays... :)
But a 9mm is still cheaper yet. I pay around $9,something a box for FMJ .9mms (range ammo) as oppsoed to $13+ for .38. At least that’s the way it is here, in NE Ohio.

I think 38 is cheaper, but I use .44 spcl, and .44 magnum for my Ruger Blackhawk and Bisleys. When I travel, I stuff a CZ-52 (7.62mm) in my glove box. I’m looking at selling it and trying to by (with wife’s permission) a snubbie in .38. Preferably ported - for her carry. I want to try a Springfield XD in .40, but I think that would be be too big and too heavy. Need something fit in my “fag-bag.”
