I always thought Presbydestrians were cardiopulmonarily fit.

You know, like "the quick and the dead."

I would love to treat Seaman Anoreth to a beer and pretels. Are you going to set up a fund?

Seaman Anoreth is “in funds” as my Irish folks would say, because she’s been at sea five months and unable to shop. Even after ordering a new computer, from Best Buy, at Pearl Harbor, she’s still loaded (I get her bank statement). I may ask her to kick in for our electric bill! (just kidding).

And here in the US, she can’t drink beer for another 18 months ... but we might “accidentally” leave some available ... I mean, you can’t chain the refrigerator closed, or Social Services will bust you.

If you’d like to send her a welcome home card, though, I’ll FReepmail the USMail address if you don’t have it already. I’ve got yours in my book! Did I send you a picture of Frank?

BTW, all my kids say “the quick and the dead” in the Apostles’ Creed, because that’s how I learned it from OldTax-lady and the Presbyterian chaplain at NAS Corpus Christi, circa 1976. There’s probably a certificate somewhere with his name, because my brother and I were confirmed there, but all I remember is that his nickname was “Chaplain Stick,” because he was very tall and thin. He was a high-functioning alcoholic and a veteran of several Vietnam tours and long-term sea deployments. His sermons were light on Calvinism and heavy on sea stories.
