Pat Fleet's "AT&T" is one of the most recognized sounds in the United States. Described as a "mega star" of phone voices by Ted Koppel on ABC's Nightline and affectionately called "Ma Bell" by telephone workers, Pat has been the voice behind literally tens of thousands of telephone recordings since 1981 - speaking to millions of callers daily with coin and credit card requests, explaining services or just thanking them for using AT&T... Her digital studio and online ordering over the internet make recording & delivering voice-overs whenever you need them incredibly easy.

I’m tempted to put the “All Circuits Busy” message on as my voicemail announcement ;-)

Her counterpart, the late Jane Barbe, is still the voice of WWVH.

Jane Barbe Linky
Jane Barbe has one of the most recognizable voices in the world. Speaking to over 20 million people a day, she is known as the voice of ETC's Audichron time, temperature, weather announcers and intercept systems.
Jane started making professional announcements for the Audichron Company in Atlanta, Georgia (acquired by ETC in 1989) in the mid 1960s. Her friendly voice announced the time, temperature and weather, as well as personalized announcements for financial institutions, telephone companies and other time-temperature-weather sponsors. For the 1970s and 1980s recordings of Jane informed telephone callers when a certain number was disconnected or no longer in service. In addition, Jane's voice is heard on the National Bureau of Standard's Time Signal and on many hotel wake-up systems.

Thank You!
This kind of post helps to take the ‘edge’ off of all the other Crap that is going on.
I get so damn depressed over the state of our country today .. It’s a treat to read “fun stuff’ once in a while!
Again .. Thanks!

We have a Tom-Tom and chose the brit-speak voice and have nicknamed her "Tomasina".....she's quite the bitch when we do highway interruptus for gas or food............until we get back toward "Take the Motorway".
Speaking of Iowa, Tomasina got totally wigged out a couple of weeks ago when we swung north out of Des Moines and I saw an offramp sign at Ankeney for a Chili's Restaurant, and did a fast lane change to pull off and take advantage of a long unused gift card.
The little bitch got over it eventually, because we ordered desert to go and "shared".

We have a Garmin named, for reasons I have forgot, Sara. Last week we were in an unfamiliar town, and it was almost dark. She had us drive down a barely-wide-enough for our truck service road, into a train yard! We didn’t want to go back the same way, so we paralleled the trains for a while.
Pretty soon, we were beneath a bridge. She told us to turn onto it (into the river). She did not get her revenge.
