Understood if you are waiting a few seconds and nothing happens, but I have had times when I was definitely paying attention to the light, didn’t have time to get my foot from the brake to the gas before *HONK*!! Or, when waiting to make a right hand turn and a pedestrian is crossing. I knew I should have run down the pedestrian so the guy behind me could get to his destination faster.

No what I am talking about is the woman who has her face buried in the visor mirror putting on makeup or the novel in the steering wheel because they just can't put it down. I have seen newspapers, full maps, novels, lunch sitting on the center of steering wheels. Another one is the guy who gets out of his car to get something out of the trunk that he forgot during the short light. We also have the female conversation that continues with eye contact long after the light changes. Driving requires full attention. Eyes need to be on the road or scanning mirrors even when you are stopped. I also ride motorcycle. If you don't do that, you usually die.
