I’d have stayed quietly inside, gun at hand, watched him closely, and possibly called 911. He might have wandered on, maybe not. But it’s not a good idea for you to confront a stranger, particularly one you think may be up to no good.
I agree. Doesn’t sound like the guy was a threat. Wandering around banging into things with a flashlight, not exactly “It takes a Thief” material...
But, that being said, I’d keep my eyes open anyways.
