Water boarding is a faster way to brainwash a guy but I have a feeling nagging, bragging and blackmail is more fun for the girl. ;^)

10 years ago if someone would have said "we can water board you or you can get nagged all day" I would have said nagging.

Today I'd say "I'll get the water"

Boys come round to this view by the age of seven or eight and assume that girls will outperform them at school and behave better in lessons, research from the University of Kent shows.

Mom sent me off to government run school and says I stopped being a happy little boy by grade 2. This is 100% right.

My Grade 2 teacher, Ms. Creamer, took delight in punishing and humiliating all the boys, where the girls in the class could do no wrong, were always called on and always showered with praise. It got so bad that one time in class I took a pencil and paper and wrote "Fuck You Ms. Creamer" on it about 12 times, then tore it up into little pieces and threw it in the trash. The next day I was sent home with a note requesting a parent teacher conference.

At the conference, on her desk Ms. Creamer has taped together my torn up "Love letter", and she proceded to tell my mother all of my faults, which included the statement that I had "an overactive sense of fair play" (like that is a BAD thing?).

Mom was hot... it was very much like that scene in the movie Uncle Buck when John Candy flips the school teacher/admin a quarter and tells her to go downtown and buy a rat to gnaw the mole off her face.

Good day, madame.

I always would have picked the water. But that’s just me. I like the water.

When did “cleverer” become a word.

According to this online dictionary, before 1615.

From an old “Hagar The Horrible” comic strip:

Daughter,”How do you get boys?”
Mother,”You have to make them think they are smarter than you.”
Daughter,”How can you do that?”
Mother,”You have to be very smart.”

When I was in school, boys routinely dominated the classrooms. There were exceptions, of course, but the top students were mostly boys. (The boys overpopulated the bottom tiers as well, but that's another story.) This led to much reformist wailing and educational reform designed to tilt the classrooms to girls. This project has clearly succeeded.

I suppose a backlash on behalf of boys should be forthcoming, but I sense it is delayed because the educationist powers that be continue to view girls as the ideologically favored class. For my part, I've begun to question the underlying model of universal same sex education. If one organizational mode has been demonstrated to favor boys, while another clearly favors girls, perhaps it's time to recognize that little boys and girls learn differently, and to find ways to recognize those differences in the classroom. One size fits all may not be the best model.

I am the father of two daughters. I am all for girl-friendly classrooms. But I want the boys to be better served as well, so that my girls have someone to marry down the road.

If sexism is bad, it’s bad. But, if this “study” is any indication, it’s perfectly fine to point out that the higher reaches of intelligence are overwhelmingly male.

Pointing this out doesn’t further the destruction of western society, though, so let’s all nod our heads sagely like good little girls and pretend to agree with the government educational establishment. They do only have our best interests at heart, you know.

Well, you have to admit they are pretty clever.

They can say “we need to buy new towels” when there is nothing wrong with the ones you have, and you just open up the wallet.

How do they do that?

And then, content with that belief, they wait for decades until they discover the great disparity in accomplishment and complain about gender discrimination.

Well, Radiation (ie. x-rays) has a lot of uses, but that’s the only one I can name of the top of my head.

LOL. I could answer that, but it’s not appropriate for a public forum.

There was a FReeper who once said (in reference to whether or not Precious metals would have value when the stuff hits the fan): “Gold and silver will be valuable as long as men like women and women like shiny things. Basically, forever.”

Made me laugh. :)

When did “cleverer” become a word.

About the same time that "smarter" became a word. And remember, this is from the UK. Their English usage is a bit different from ours.

Some adjectives use "more" and "most," some use -er and -est to indicate relative degrees of the quality being described.

Although we don't usually say "stupider" and "stupidest," the title of a Christopher Moore book, "The Stupidest Angel" works better than "The Most Stupid Angel."

Well, girls have been doing “better” all these years as public school sank into the crapper. It has nothing to do with intelligence or learning.

Smart girls tend to be more conformist and do what they are told. The smartest boys tend to be the exact opposite.

By high school, I knew most of the assignments were a waste of time and a CYA move. I simply refused to waste my time for a few more grade points. I liked to read an learn on my own and didn't care about grades. I was always one of the best students in the few courses where teachers/profs actually taught.

I also predicted that a degree from Haa’vad or Columbia would become worthless as so many people were getting in on daddy's money. I knew my job performance and character would be the only thing that mattered.

And I was right. In the real world, my grades did not matter one tiny bit. Nobody even looked at them.
