Well, all I can say is, that guy who took McCartney’s place was a fantastic bass player.

We used to play Revolution number 9 (white album) backwards - you can hear the car crash.

Actually McCartney was taken up in a UFO piloted by a Bigfoot. I found this out through documents obtained through use of the Freedom Of Information Act.

In fairness I must now reveal that there is another version as to how McCartney left us in the 1960’s. He was receiving a cleansing colonic and burst!

Oddly enough, the rumor was started as a hoax by Fred LaBour when he was a disk jockey in Michigan. Fred is now known as "Too Slim" the acoustical bassist in America's favorite cowboy band, the Riders in the Sky.

Well, that would explain Wings ...

I remember the hype and hoopla over this, the rumor of McCartney’s untimely demise was supposedly started by Roby Younge, who was a DJ at WABC in NYC. He ultimately got fired because of it.

We had a whakjob running around the college dorm in 1969, playing albums backwards, trying to call the so called phone number on the Magical Mystery Tour album and absolutely CONVINCED the story was true. Unforgettable.

Nonetheless, some evidence seems consistent with a dx of Sir Macca being "brain dead" in recent years: being taken to the cleaners by his one-legged floozy, custom flying his eco-car 7000 miles from Japan, and joking stupidly about George Bush.
In the final analysis Dubya's Presidency disappointed me, but I greatly resented Paul's crack about Dubya delivered on stage after he had serenaded The One & Moochelle.

Do a Google search on "Fred LaBour".
His story is well known to those of us who are Riders in the Sky groupies.
