Thanking you,
R/S.
Best of luck to your recruit, L2ndA, as he earns his title!
You'll be so proud, your eyes will water.
(One bit of advice I'm glad I received from a fellow FReeper: Arrive a day early to watch your Marine's battalion practice on the parade deck before graduation. Bring binoculars, too.)
Our family is looking forward to seeing our Marine for the first time in 10 months when he comes home for pre-deployment leave.
Princeton, N.J. native Pfc. Trey Rasmussen, machine gunner, Company W, 2nd Battalion, 3rd Marines, provides security during a training exercise at Marine Corps Training Area - Bellows (Hawaii). The battalion executed the weeklong evolution last May in preparation for their upcoming winter 2010 deployment in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

Former professor in veterinary college and now a friend that I take to lunch every year on Veterans Day was a marine on Iwa Jima. I am honored to walk in his shadow. He is 86 and still rides his bike every day. God Bless Him. CJ Bierschwal is his name.

Thank you!
Looking for a time share near Hilton Head. I think we will have our Thanksgiving there in South Carolina. Spend the week and visit the museum on base. Be there for his Liberty the day before.

When my son graduated from the Island a few yrs back we stayed at a B&B in Beaufort, South Carolina. I forget the name but it was very enjoyable place and close to Parris Island.
